A project by MAK for the VIENNA BIENNALE 2015: IDEAS FOR CHANGE

The idea competition Create Your Bucharest is an innovative competition that discovers, recognizes, supports, and encourages the development of projects that initiate dynamic, positive change. Entries are judged on their innovation and feasibility as well as their artistic and community impact.
 
Competition & Exhibition 
The idea competition for artists, designers, and architects offers the opportunity to Romanian citizens around the world and international citizens living in Romania to compete for awards and participate 2015 in the MAK exhibition Mapping Bucharest: Art, Memory, and Revolution 1916–2016.
 
Application & Submission
The call is open to artists, designers, and architects. Teams and students in these fields are also welcome to apply. There is no age limit.
Applications can be submitted online through the website createyourbucharest. org starting on 3 October 2014. The closing date for online applications is 15 January 2015.
 
Jury & Prizes
The international jury will select one main prize winner of the idea competition, who will receive a cash prize of € 10,000. Nine special prize winners will receive a cash prize of € 3,000 each. The winning projects will be part of the MAK exhibition Mapping Bucharest: Art, Memory, and Revolution 1916–2016.

The idea competition and the MAK exhibition are a major contribution to the VIENNA BIENNALE 2015: IDEAS FOR CHANGE, from 11 June until 4 October 2015.
 
The VIENNA BIENNALE 2015: IDEAS FOR CHANGE is an initiative of the MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art. It is organized by the MAK in cooperation with the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the Kunsthalle Wien, the Architekturzentrum Wien, and departure, the Creative Unit of the Vienna Business Agency, with support from the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) as a non-university research partner.
